Vocabulary & Concept Review (Set 3)

PART 1: Essential Verbs & Locations (Q1, Q13, Q16, Q17, Q20, Q22)
수영하다 / 취업하다 [Su-yeong-ha-da / Chwi-eop-ha-da]
Actions: '수영' is Swimming. '취업' refers to getting a job at a company, airport, or hotel.
~에서 [~e-seo] At / In (Location particle)
Particle: Used when an action occurs at a specific place. E.g., 공원에서 만나요 (Meet AT the park).
넣다 / 담다 [Neot-da / Dam-da] To put in
Synonym: Both mean to put something inside a container (like a bowl).
장보기 ↔ 쇼핑 [Jang-bo-gi ↔ Ssho-ping]
Difference: '장보기' is grocery shopping for necessities. '쇼핑' is buying clothes or fun items.
오전 ↔ 오후 [O-jeon ↔ O-hu] AM ↔ PM
Time: Hospitals are usually crowded in the '오전' (morning), so going in the '오후' (afternoon) is better.
PART 2: Key Antonyms & Synonyms (Q2~Q6, Q14, Q15, Q18, Q19, Q23)
무겁다 ↔ 가볍다 [Mu-geop-da ↔ Ga-byeop-da] Heavy ↔ Light
Antonym: Describing weight. E.g., The bag is too heavy (무겁다).
입금 ↔ 출금 [Ip-geum ↔ Chul-geum] Deposit ↔ Withdraw
Banking: '입금' is putting money in. '출금' is taking money out. '환전' is exchanging currency.
편식하다 ↔ 골고루 먹다 [Pyeon-sik-ha-da ↔ Gol-go-ru meok-da]
Antonym: '편식' means eating only what you like. '골고루' means eating a balanced variety.
낭비하다 ↔ 절약하다 [Nang-bi-ha-da ↔ Jeol-yak-ha-da]
Antonym: '낭비' is wasting money/resources. '절약' is saving or economizing.
바꾸다 = 변경하다 [Ba-kku-da = Byeong-yeong-ha-da] To change
Synonym: To change a schedule/time is '변경하다'. To exchange an item is '교환하다'.
시간이 있다 ↔ 시간이 없다 (바쁘다) [Si-gan-i it-da ↔ Bap-peu-da]
Antonym: To have time (여유롭다/한가하다) vs To be busy / have no time.

Antonym: '충분하다' means enough. '부족하다' means lacking or not enough.

Synonym: Both describe beauty. '아름답다' is a more formal and deep expression.
늘어나다 = 증가하다 ↔ 줄어들다 = 감소하다 [Neul-eo-na-da = Jeung-ga-ha-da]
Synonym: To increase (증가). The opposite is to decrease (감소).

어버이날 [Eo-beo-i-nal] Parents' Day
Holiday: Celebrated on May 8th (5월 8일) to thank mothers and fathers (어버이).
동지 / 팥죽 [Dong-ji / Pat-juk]
Culture: '동지' is the longest night of the year. Koreans eat red bean porridge (팥죽) because red color drives away bad spirits.
