Complete Guide to the April 2026 Immigration Agency Registration & Refresher Training Schedule (For Lawyers & Administrative Scriveners)
While I am not an immigration professional myself, I know that for experts in the field, catching mandatory government training announcements before the deadline is a real race against time. Knowing how incredibly busy administrative scriveners (Haengjeongsa) and lawyers are, I’ve put together this comprehensive guide. This way, you can easily grasp the complete April 2026 training schedule at a glance without having to decipher the complex official notices on HiKorea. ✨
Based on the official announcement from the Ministry of Justice, I have meticulously organized everything from the new registration training to the refresher courses for existing agencies. Since both registration and refresher courses are scheduled for this month, it is crucial to accurately identify which category you fall into!
📝 1. Registration / ID Card Issuance Training (For New Applicants)
This course is mandatory for those who are newly registering as an immigration civil petition agency, or for new members joining an existing agency who need to be issued a new ID card.
🏢 1) Seoul Immigration Office Schedule
There is a very important point you must check first. Since September 2022, the Seoul Immigration Office exclusively handles all registration and ID issuance training for all regions. Therefore, regardless of where your office is located in the country, you must apply to the Seoul Office for this specific training. 📌

🎯 2) How to Apply & Target Audience
All applications are accepted strictly via email. In-person visits or postal mail applications are absolutely not allowed, and all required documents must be scanned and attached to your email.
[Detailed Target Audience]
- For Agency Registration: The Representative of lawyers, administrative scriveners, or corporate/joint administrative scrivener offices.
- For ID Card Issuance: Members and affiliated staff of an already registered immigration agency.
To fulfill the agency registration requirements, the representative of the agency MUST complete the training. If a regular member or staff member takes it instead of the representative, it will not be recognized for registration purposes. (Exception: For law firms, an affiliated lawyer delegated by the representative lawyer is accepted.)
📁 3) Required Documents (For Registration/ID Issuance)
- Common Requirements: Training Application Form (attached format), Copy of Business Registration Certificate, Copy of ID.
🚨 STRICT WARNING: Only Resident Registration Cards, Passports, and Driver's Licenses are accepted as valid IDs. Professional licenses or existing agency ID cards are NOT accepted. - Lawyers & Scriveners: Copy of Administrative Scrivener License or Lawyer ID.
- Corporate/Joint Office Members: Documents verifying affiliation (e.g., operating rules, corporate registration certificate).
- Affiliated Staff: Certificate of Employment (Must be issued within 30 days of the application date).
🔄 2. Refresher Training (Mandatory 2-Year Renewal)
If you are a registered agency, member, or staff currently holding an ID card, you must complete the refresher training every two years to maintain your authority.

The eligible applicants are agencies, members, and staff who already hold an ID card and whose training validity period has less than 1 year remaining as of the training date.
🚨 CRITICAL NOTICE: For joint offices or corporations, ALL personnel holding an ID card must complete the training within their validity period to maintain agency privileges such as using the exclusive counter and e-minwon services. If even one person misses it, the entire agency suffers!
📁 3) Required Documents for Refresher Training
- Common Requirements: Training Application Form, Copy of Business Registration, Copy of ID, Copy of Current Agency ID Card.
* ID restrictions apply here as well (Resident Registration Card, Passport, Driver's License only). - Lawyers & Scriveners: Copy of Administrative Scrivener License or Lawyer ID.
- Corporate/Joint Office Members: Affiliation proof (operating rules, corporate registry, etc.).
- Affiliated Staff: Certificate of Employment (Issued within 30 days).
⚠️ 3. Important Notices & Guidelines (Must Read)
- Cost: Participation is completely free of charge. 💸
- First-Come, First-Served: Applications close on a first-come, first-served basis. You can only participate if you receive a separate confirmation notice from the office. Please check your inbox frequently!
- Waitlist Priority: If you cannot attend due to exceeding capacity, you will be given priority in the next training selection process.
- Penalties: If your attendance is confirmed but you cancel without notice, fail to show up, or leave early, you may face disadvantages when applying for future training.
- Punctuality & Certificates: For in-person sessions, you must arrive at least 20 minutes before the start time. Certificates of completion will be sent in bulk to your registered email after the training concludes. 🎓
- Virtual Training: Participants in live virtual training must prepare the necessary equipment (webcam, mic) and environment in advance.
I hope this organized guide saves you valuable time and helps you secure a spot in the upcoming April sessions. Missing these mandatory trainings can seriously disrupt your agency's operations, so please set an alarm and send your application emails as soon as the registration window opens!
Wishing you smooth processing and continued success in your immigration practice. 🌟
